What is Zerona laser treatment?
Zerona is the first non-invasive fat loss laser to effectively target excess fat without the negative side effects associated with surgical methods.* Zerona utilizes the same cold laser technology.
- Zerona is a full body fat loss treatment that allows clients to target areas of stubborn fat.
- The first laser specifically designed for body contouring.
- The technology is FDA Market-Cleared, non-invasive and clinically tested.
- Applied externally, the laser targets excess fat by emulsifying fatty tissue through the use of cold laser technology
- It provides an alternative fat loss treatment without the adverse side effects associated with surgical and other weight loss procedures like liposuction and body wraps
How Zerona Works
The technology employed by the Zerona laser was initially developed as an adjunct to liposuction procedures to help speed up the recovery process. However, it was found that these cold laser treatments could be used as a stand-alone procedure that promoted the liberation of stored intracellular fat.
Zerona utilizes cold laser treatment, also called low-level laser technology (LLLT). This “cold” laser technique uses low levels of light that are not enough to heat your body’s tissue.
When it’s used cosmetically to target fat cells, the Zerona procedure creates an overall body slimming effect that can be used to reduce fat in your: Waist, Chest, Pecs, Back, Neck, Arms, Thighs, Hips, Ankles, and more!
The Zerona laser uses low-level laser stimulation to disrupt the membrane of fat cells. This disruption induces the formation of a transitory pore that causes the fatty material of the cell to seep out and move into the interstitial space regulated by the lymphatic system. The result is that fat cells within adipose tissue are shrunk instead of being killed, which can be harmful to the integrity of bodily tissue.
Zerona Non-Invasive Fat Loss Procedure
Zerona Z6 is a low-level laser used to target problematic areas of stored fat. Most clients who undergo the Zerona process focus on their waist, thighs and hips, but it can also be used on various other problem areas such as the arms, neck, ankles, chest and back due to it’s clearance to treat the overall body.
The procedure is straightforward and causes no side effects. Your Zerona provider will have you lie on a comfortable table on your back. Six lasers will be applied to target areas of fat simultaneously for approximately 20 minutes. You’ll then lie on your front, where the process will be repeated. By undergoing this 40-minute procedure as few as 6 times, you can see quality results in fat loss.
Zerona’s Clinically Tested Fat Loss Treatment
The cold laser technology behind the Zerona procedure is both clinically tested and proven effective as a fat loss treatment. The Zerona technique has been clinically researched using multiple double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized, multi-site studies. The results speak for themselves. Most clients lost an average of 3.72 inches from the circumference of their waist, thighs and hips, while the placebo group only lost about a half inch.
Why Clinically Tested Fat Loss Treatments Are Important
If you’re looking to lose fat, there are tons of companies to choose from. They boast of instant results and guarantee to help you lose weight both quickly and safely. However, you’ll find that many of these claims are not only false but downright dangerous. In fact, most other forms of fat loss treatments harm the fat cells, while Zerona is specifically designed to avoid doing so.
Clinical testing ensures that a fat loss procedure is safe and effective. Zerona-Z6 has undergone multiple clinical studies, so clients can have confidence that the treatment works with proven results. Plus, these trials and FDA Market-Clearances confirm that the Zerona procedure is safe.
Thousands of clients have now seen positive results using the clinically tested Zerona laser.
ALTERNATIVE FAT LOSS TREATMENT TO LIPOSUCTION, BODY WRAPS AND LOWER QUALITY SCULPTING SOLUTIONS
Until recently, patients seeking a safe and effective fat loss technique had few options. Liposuction and other fat loss procedures require lengthy recoveries, and many fat loss methods result in: swelling, bruising, damage to other bodily tissue and killing fat cells
Zerona Z6’s cold laser technology targets fat cells using non-invasive low-level laser technology (LLLT). That means you can enjoy real results without the inconvenience of weight loss surgery, painful non-invasive treatments, or fat loss procedures. You’ll experience a variety of benefits when you choose Zerona over other fat loss methods, including:
- No downtime or rest before resuming normal activities
- No restrictive bandages
- No anesthesia
Plus, Zerona is different than other low-level laser fat loss techniques. Instead of heating or freezing tissue, which can cause pain and discomfort, the cold laser technology emulsifies fatty tissue without killing it.
This is a different process than liposuction, which involves removing fat from the body using vacuum suction. The added benefit of laser lipolysis is that it spurs the production of the protein collagen, making skin more taut
Laser Liposuction Technique Melts Fat and Tightens Skin
Laser lipolysis gives traditional liposuction a fat-busting boost.
For those seeking trimmer bodies with minimal effort, liposuction is one of the most popular fast-fixes. But like anything that seems too good to be true, the fat-reduction procedure comes with a few drawbacks, especially if your skin can’t take up the slack. Pockets of sagging skin may defeat the purpose of using cosmetic surgery to bust hard-to-reach fat.
How Does It Work?
Laser lipolysis is a minimally invasive procedure that uses heat from fiber-optic lasers at various wavelengths to melt body fat. This is a different process than liposuction, which involves removing fat from the body using vacuum suction. The added benefit of laser lipolysis is that it spurs the production of the protein collagen, making skin more taut.
Clinical results were drawn from the laser lipolysis and liposuction procedures of more than 2,000 patients over a three-year span. Researchers found that patients overall lost significant fat bulk in different parts of the body and saw an increase in skin tightness. Patients didn’t suffer from any major complications, though some complained of minor pain and bruising.
Lipolysis or Liposuction?
Laser lipolysis can be effective on its own for fat removal. However, integrating laser lipolysis with traditional liposuction generally produces the best results for tightening and shrinking skin.
Health and Safety Considerations
Many studies have found laser lipolysis to be a safe and effective treatment for targeting small areas of body fat, and because the procedure is done on an outpatient basis, the recovery is generally quick. Arm yourself with the facts, and talk to your doctor to find out whether you would be a good candidate for liposuction, laser lipolysis, or both.
“All procedures, however, have some risks. All surgical procedures have the risk of infection, bleeding, scarring, nerve injury, adverse reaction to anesthesia, and blood clots. Liposuction has additional risks, including contour irregularity, asymmetry, seroma (a pocket of fluid under the skin), skin discoloration, and burn,” he added.
Remember, though liposuction patients are not usually looking to shed major pounds, surgery is no substitute for a balanced diet and regular exercise. Cosmetic surgery can only improve one’s appearance so much, and is not always synonymous with a healthier body.
CoolSculpting vs. Zerona: How Do They Compare?
Though Cool Sculpting by Zeltiq and Zerona may sound somewhat similar and are often confused for one another, they are very different in the way that they work and their results. Cool Sculpting is the only FDA approved treatment that kills the fat cells by freezing them to the point of elimination. These fat cells are killed permanently and do not return. There are no dietary restrictions or exercise programs that are indicated with Cool Sculpting, however, those people who maintain a healthy diet and an active lifestyle will get the best out of their results.
Zerona, on the other hand, uses cold laser to disrupt fat cells. The content of the fat cells leak out, but the fat cell remains alive and is not killed. So, the fat cells treated with Zerona can always grow back to their original size after the treatment. That’s why it is recommended to be used in conjunction with a regular diet and exercise regimen. While Zerona is FDA approved, this approval is for non-invasive body contouring and not for fat reduction.
We chose CoolSculpting over Zerona as there was overwhelming evidence that CoolSculpting is effective with long-lasting results. The same could not be said for Zerona. In our practice we have used CoolSculpting to treat many patients who previously had Zerona and did not see any results. They have all been very please with their results after just one CoolSculpting treatment!
CoolSculpting is by far and away the best non-surgical treatment for fat reduction of the Belly, Love Handles, Bra Fat, and Thighs.
What Happens When Zerona Doesn’t Work?
1. How to treat Hyperpigmentation? Hyperpigmentation is the name that healthcare professionals give to patches of skin that become darker than surrounding areas of skin.
Types of hyperpigmentation include age spots, melasma, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Each of these has different cause and a range of treatments and products, including creams and cosmetic procedures. We discuss these below.
