What is PRP therapy?
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a form of blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets and growth factors. Platelets are tiny cell fragments that stop bleeding and bruising and contain growth factors and natural substances that encourage cellular growth and stimulate healing. PRP augments an increase in volume of hair and contains at least 8 growth factors that will, over a period of time, continually work as a rejuvenating agent.
PRP contains special cells called Platelets, that cause growth of the hair follicles by stimulating the stem cells and other cells in the microenvironment of the hair follicle. These special Platelet cells promote healing, accelerates the rate and degree of tissue healing and regeneration, responds to injury, and formation of new cellular growth. The primary purpose of using PRP in hair restoration is to stimulate inactive or newly implanted hair follicles into an active growth phase. It is highly recommended post a hair transplant to help newly implanted follicles gain strength and grow faster.
It is a simple lunch time procedure with zero downtime though results vary from person to person.
